Best of all, a stir fry is incredibly versatile. You can choose your favorite meat or meat substitute, along with whichever veggies you like the most! You can even test out different flavors in your sauces.

One of our favorite proteins to use in a stir fry is beef! So here are two delicious beef stir fry sauces you can pair with it, which take just minutes to make.

Let’s take a look at how else to build a perfect stir fry.

The great thing about a beef stir fry is that you do not need to opt for an expensive cut of beef, in fact these cuts are the best:

When preparing your beef for a stir fry, always slice your beef thinly against the grain. Many people overcrowd the pan which reduces the heat when cooking. For tender, juicy beef you will need to be sure you are searing it over high heat and avoiding overcrowding.

Now, onto the veggies! You could use almost any vegetable in a stir fry, but the best ones are those that are thinly sliced so they cook quickly. Some ideas of veggies you can include are:

  • Peppers
  • Mushrooms
  • Zucchini
  • Summer squash
  • Sugar snap peas
  • Carrots
  • Onion
  • Asparagus
  • Broccoli

As you need an oil with a high smoke point, opt for canola oil, grape-seed oil, avocado oil or peanut oil.

Always heat the oil until it begins rippling before adding in your meat or veggies. A common mistake is to season the meat and/or veggies too early. The salt draws out moisture which can leave your stir fry soggy and overcooked.
