Pressure Cooker Turkey Breast Recipe

When it comes to roasting a whole turkey, I only do it once a year on Thanksgiving.

It takes a lot of space up in the oven and I don’t normally have that many hours available to get dinner ready.

But making a turkey breast in my pressure cooker is a breeze. It takes under an hour to cook this moist turkey that is perfect in sandwiches.

My family likes deli turkey but I don’t like the extra salt that comes with it. Making your own deli turkey is a good way to control sodium and any additives that you don’t want in your foods.

Don’t get me wrong as I buy turkey from the deli in a pinch. But I really prefer to cook a turkey breast myself. It also is a huge money saver.

While I frequently make Pressure Cooker Turkey Breast for dinner, I prefer to eat the turkey in sandwiches, wraps and pitas.

The leftovers are also perfect to make Turkey Puff Pastry Pot Pies , Curried Turkey Salad or Turkey Vegetable Soup.

I also like to make deli platters with the turkey. It is great served next to some homemade slaw and my favorite refrigerator pickles.

Everyone can make their own sandwiches and it is also perfect for anyone following a low carb diet.

I have a Power Quick Pot with a pressure cooker function. It is very similar to an Instant Pot or other multi-purpose cooker.

This appliance makes great turkey in such a small amount of time. The turkey breast can be browned under the broiler for the last few minutes of cooking.

This will get the skin nice and crisp, but I like to remove the skin and not even turn my oven on.

  • 4 Whole Turkey Breast (Butterball) (bone-in)
  • 1 Olive Oil
  • 0.5 Poultry Seasoning or Italian Seasoning
  • 2 Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
  • 1 Chicken Broth or turkey broth (or stock)


  • Loosen the skin on the turkey breast and rub the olive oil underneath and on top of the turkey breast.
  • Sprinkle the turkey breast with the poultry or Italian seasoning and seasoned salt. 
  • Pour the stock into the pressure cooker. 
  • Place the turkey breast inside the pressure cooker with the cavity side down. 
  • Place the lid on the pressure cooker, seal and lock. Set the cook timer to the pressure cooker setting on high for 30 minutes.
  • When the pressure cooker beeps, switch the valve so that the pressure slowly releases.
  • Once released, open the lid carefully, away from your face.
  • Remove the turkey from the pressure cooker. Test the turkey breast with a digital thermometer to be sure meat has reached at least 160°F.
  • Set on a cutting board and let cool. For crispy skin, place the turkey breast on a baking sheet and in the broiler for about 5 to 10 minutes. Slice turkey and place on a platter before serving.
